Banni Mata Temple, also known variously as the Mahakali Banni Mata Temple, is located in Chamba District, a hill station in the State of Himachal Pradesh in north India. This temple is situated at a height of 8,500 feet, right at the base of Pir Panjal Range in the Chamba Valley. It is an ancient temple dedicated to Devi Kali, a goddess figure in Hinduism. The Chamera Dam impounds the River Ravi and supports the hydroelectricity project in the region. It is located near the town of Dalhousie, in the Chamba district in the state of Himachal Pradesh in India The reservoir of the dam is the Chamera Lake. Large part of its reservoir lies in Salooni sub-division of Chamba. After completion of the first phase, the Chamera-I generates 540 MW (3x180 MW) of electricity. The second stage i.e. Chamera-II Dam generates 300 MW (3X100 MW) of electricity. From year 2012, the 3rd stage i.e. Chamera III generates 231 MW (3x77) of electricity. The unique feature of the region is the fluctuating day and night temperature. The temperature during the day near the dam rises up to 35 degrees Celsius and drops to a minimum of 18 to 20 °C at night. The water level in the Chamera Lake rises to a maximum of 763 meters while the minimum water level is 747 meters. With the start of reservoir impounding today Koldam, the flagship Hydro Power Project of NTPC shall be ready to generate power by year 2014-15. Koldam project with an installed capacity of 800 MW ( 4x200 MW) will provide the much needed peaking capacity to the Northern grid and annually generate 3054 GWh electricity at 90% dependable year basis. Gurudwara Paonta Sahib, is a noted Gurudwara in Paonta Sahib, District of Sirmour, Himachal Pradesh. This Gurdwara was built in memory of Guru Gobind Singh ji, the tenth guru of sikhs[1]. The Gurdwara enjoys a high historic and religious importance among the followers of the Sikh religion world over. The Gurudwara have a palanquin "Palki" made of pure gold, donated by devotees. Dal Lake is a small mid-altitude lake (1,775 m above sea level) near the village of Tota Rani in Kangra district (Himachal Pradesh) in northern India. The name 'Dal Lake' is taken from Kashmir's Dal Lake. The lake is surrounded by deodar trees and is considered to be a sacred spot as there is small Shiva mandir (shrine) on its bank.
