It was in the year 1854 that Sir Donald McLeod of the British Empire suggested that this place be named after the famous Viceroy of India – Lord Dalhousie. It was in 1861 that Dalhousie was recognized as a part of the Gurdaspur district. Dalhousie became a division of Himachal Pradesh in the year 1966. Dalhousie is a beautiful hill station in Chamba district, in the northern Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. It is situated on 5 hills and has an elevation of 1,970 metres above sea level

The highest peak in Dalhousie, Dainkund Peak is located at a height of 2,755 m and boasts tall deodar trees, lush forests, vibrant flowers and emerald green valleys. All these come together to make the peak one of the most visited tourist attractions in Dalhousie. Moreover, tourists can get splendid views of Khajjiar Lake from the peak and these picture-perfect sights are a delight for photographers. From the peak, tourists can get a 360-degree view of the entire area. Trekking is another popular activity that draws a lot of people as there are a number of scenic trails around the peak. An Air Force base and the Pholani Devi Temple are added attractions of the area. During winters, the peak becomes a winter wonderland, where adventure-sports can be enjoyed.

Sach Pass is a 4,414-metre-high (14,482 ft) mountain pass in Chamba District, Himachal Pradesh, India on the Pir Panjal range of the Himalayas.[1] It is 127 km (79 mi) from the District Headquarters. It connects the Chamba valley with the Pangi valleys of Himachal Pradesh, India. There is one helipad on ascending towards Sach pass from Bairagarh of Himachal Pradesh. 1998 Chamba massacre also took place at Satrundi & Kalaban when 35 Hindus and some buddhist, mostly labourers, were shot down by terrorists, and 11 were injured. They were working on the Saach Pass road. There was a lack of security but now whole area is under surveillance and is now getting more popular among trekkers and tourists

Panchvaktra is defined as the union of all these. The foundation date of the Panhvaktra temple is still unknown. As per the historical facts, the temple was restored under the reign of Sidh Sen's kingship (1684-1727) as it was damaged due to flood.

Tara Devi temple was built by Sen dynasty kings sometime around 1766 A.D.[1] The fort of Giri Sen is still there in Junga. According to a story which traces back to 250 years,[3] the king Bhupendra Sen built the temple and after he had a vision in which Goddess Tara asked her to install a template there so that people could get her blessings. He also installed a wooden idol of Goddess there. Later, King Balbir Sen had a vision of Goddess Tara where she asked him to install the temple on Tarav hill top. The king did the same and also erected an idol of Goddess made up of “Ashtadhatu”,[4] a mix of eight precious elements. The idol was carried on an element named Shankar.

The idea to establish a museum was mooted to preserve the fossil site and the fossils from being indiscriminately extracted and vandalized.[5] It was also intended to provide prehistoric period scientific information for scholarly research. The Geological Survey of India, in association with the Government of Himachal Pradesh, established the park on 23 March 1974. The park is also maintained by the Geological Survey of India The Geological Survey of India identifies the fossils as vertebrates that lived in the area about 2.5 million years ago,.[5][1] Scientists believe that the Shivalik Hills, which formed about twenty-five million years ago, show the evolution of mankind.[10] The mammalian fossils found in the Shiwaliks of this park are one of the world's richest antiquities.

Nestled between the beautiful lofty ranges of the Himalayas, lies the Naldehra hill station. The Naldehra hill resort near Shimla is no less than a picture perfect destination.
